I've been using it for years on my Mac and Wintel boxes - it's a GREAT technology!! It is the correct solution for things like scanners, external drivers, etc - NOT the hackish approach that USB is/was.

I was reading up on firewire support on Linux
(http://linux1394.sourceforge.net), and it appears that its supported for
use under linux. However, I'm courious if anyone has used it yet, and what
they think of it -- do you think its as good as it is under windows?

I have to admit that I've not tried it with Linux...
