I downloaded the "jogdial" applet off of sourceforge. It works OK. I can't even download Windows 2000 drivers for the thing. I'm running with the stock kernel from Mandrake 8.0 on my Vaio Z505 (2.4.3 I think? - I'm on my desktop at the moment. And the notebook is packed up in the car for a weeklong triip). The only goofy thing I had to do to get things loaded, besides what's been mentioned so far, is to disable probing PCMCIA when booting for the initial install. I think the install kept getting a panic until I did that. And, that was with an external Sony DVD-ROM drive (which is mostly an overly expensive CD-ROM drive under Linux for the moment).
