We have a DSL at home, a Verizon ADSL to be exact. To connect, we use a Lucent RG-1000 and run the whole house wireless. Now, this might be expensive, but, i believe that both linksys and d-link have configureable firewalls for about $100 that have web based setups and will handle the converting to ADSL for you -- all you do is plug your machine into the integrated 10/100 switch. dlink is here http://www.dlink.com/products/DigitalHome/CableDsl/ linksys is here http://www.linksys.com/products/group.asp?grid=23 note-- i have not tried and of these things, i just know that they exist. -brad --- Have I got a long way to run -- Collective Soul -----Original Message----- From: plug-admin@lists.phillylinux.org [mailto:plug-admin@lists.phillylinux.org]On Behalf Of Kevin Brosius Sent: Tuesday, November 13, 2001 11:22 AM To: plug@lists.phillylinux.org Subject: Re: [PLUG] Veriizon ADSL ian reinhart geiser wrote: > > -----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- > Hash: SHA1 > > On Tuesday 13 November 2001 10:08 am, you wrote about Re: [PLUG] Veriizon > ADSL: > > You should also be able to get Directv DSL, which I'm using, in your > > area. Nice deal on now, $24.95 setup/shipping fee, no charge for the equipment (you need to return it when done), $19.95 for first three months with year sign up (or $49.95/mo with no-annual contract, I think that's great.) -- Kevin Brosius ______________________________________________________________________ Philadelphia Linux Users Group - http://www.phillylinux.org Announcements-http://lists.phillylinux.org/mail/listinfo/plug-announce General Discussion - http://lists.phillylinux.org/mail/listinfo/plug ______________________________________________________________________ Philadelphia Linux Users Group - http://www.phillylinux.org Announcements-http://lists.phillylinux.org/mail/listinfo/plug-announce General Discussion - http://lists.phillylinux.org/mail/listinfo/plug
