Any ideas on how to fix kdm?

What does it say when you try to run kdm from the command line (as root)? Doing something like "kdm >kdm.log 2>&1" and putting the contents of kdm.log in an email to the group would be quite helpful for figuring out the problem.

Also, I noticed that on Debian (woody), kdm is a separate package. Is
it that way on RedHat? If so, do you have that package installed?

Sorry, fellas. Bonehead me moved a very important symbolic link to one very important kdmrc file, and that's why things were not working. My bad :( Sorry to have troubled you. On the plus side, KDE 2.2.2 is quite a bit speedier than KDE 2.2.1, so I suggest anyone running RH 7.2 upgrade to this new version (and get yourself some swap, too, if you don't already have it). Thanks again for all the kind help :)
