I'm your man. RDRAM versus DDR in what context? System memory? P4? For the most part DDR appears to offer something like 90% of RDRAM's performance at roughly 50% the cost. SDR SDRAM, however, is just plain bad in terms of performance. All of this goes out the door once you're no longer discussing the P4, as well. The P3 likes SDR only, as it wasn't designed to take advantage of DDR or rambus. The Athlon, especially the newer XP/MP/4 CPUs, really want DDR for maximum performance. - Rich 'Forge' Mingin Forge on www.tech-report.com ----- Original Message ----- From: "Time" <time@clockbot.net> To: <plug@lists.phillylinux.org> Sent: Thursday, January 03, 2002 1:24 PM Subject: [PLUG] SDRam vs. RDRam > I'm hoping this isn't too far off the topic, I'm looking for some opinions regarding RDRam vs the widely used in GeForce video accelerator technology DDR SDRam.
