I'm able to get to the login prompt of ssh. I enter my userid and then it prompts me for my password. I'll enter my correct password, but ssh acts like it's not the correct password. Does this sound like DNS? btw, I'm going through a Linksys NAT with port 23 forwarded to my RH 7.2 Linux machine. This worked fine until about 2 weeks ago. Thanks for your help! I'm still a Linux newbie.
Jim, check your IP address ... is it possible ComCast didn't put in a PTR record that matchs the A record in DNS? If they were tampering with your connections, you shouldn't even be able to make the login attempt ... but if they're simply negligent in their DNS configs, it could behave oddly. -- Jim Foster - jif "at" computer .org http://www.voicenet.com/~jfoster "Being on a Beemer and not having a wave returned by a ICQ 679709 Sportster is like having a clipper ship's hailing not RAM 2500 Cummins returned by an orphaned New Jersey solid waste barge." -OTL '91 K100RS16V
