Fred, How would a neighbor help? I am talking about an entire area - say 40% or more of the CO that cannot get it due to distance! This is true everywhere in Verizon territory. Roughly half the population cannot get DSL! It is being falsely advertised! There really is no competitiion unless you want to say cable is there or satelite. Where available though, sharing with neighbors via wireless is an interesting concept. Some of the wireless stuff will go miles with proper antennas albeit not legally but it is pretty hard to find spread spectrum stuff!
