I've been running SpamAssassin (via procmail) with Postfix for a few weeks now, and all I can say is, "wow, this thing rocks!". http://spamassassin.taint.org/ I *used* to get about 20 spams a day in my inbox. I'm down to 1 or 2. I've got my "score" set to 5, which the FAQ claims will generate some false positives. The good news? I've only seen one false positive, and found out that it was AWFULLY hard to create a message that would satisfy the scoring mechanism. SpamAssassin, rather than insantly nuking your spams will instead add some headers and a bit of text at the top of the message. Here's my procmail rule: :0: * ^X-Spam-Flag.*YES $HOME/mail/spam Every few days, I take a quick glance through that folder, and delete (usually) dozens of spams in a couple of seconds. In short, try it out, your mailbox will thank you for it. -- Jason Costomiris <>< | Technologist, geek, human. jcostom {at} jasons {dot} org | http://www.jasons.org/ Quidquid latine dictum sit, altum viditur.
