You could try a GRUB boot disk from
<ftp://alpha.gnu.org/gnu/grub/grub-0.91-i386-pc.ext2fs>.  If you're not
familiar with GRUB, the basics you need to get going are available at
<http://www.gnu.org/manual/grub-0.90/html_chapter/grub_2.html#SEC6> and
<http://www.gnu.org/manual/grub-0.90/html_chapter/grub_4.html#SEC12>.
