I didn't see a cdrom on the fstab. If you don't have entry in /proc/ide, I can't help. But when you get one (reboot, twiddle cable?) edit this to taste: /dev/cdrom /mnt/cdrom iso9660 defaults,users,ro 0 0 Can you do an ls -al /dev/cdrom and post? Also, do ls -al on booksmarks files and post. I think you have a perms problem, but we need to see perms. Glad that things are picking up w/ this pc.
