[PLUG] LVM for linux

Has anyone successfully implemented LVM (Logical Volume Manager) on linux
and put the root partition on a logical volume? If so, I could desperately
use some help.

Details:
I'm running RHLinux 7.3, I've got a VG set up and am able to mount LV's with
ext3 filesystem on them. In addition, I've also used lvmcreate_initrd to
build an initrd image, and placed it at the appropriate location in my
grub.conf file. I'll have error messages later on when I can get back in
front of the machine, but I'm hoping that someone out there has already
successfully done this and could point me in the right direction. I think
that one of the problems I'm having is that the initrd image that is built
by default is too large. I've modified the initrd that is built with the
command to prune it down some more, and after I've done that, the vgscan
command reports back that it did not find any volume groups on any of my
disks.

Help!
