[PLUG] tape drive woes

I have two tape drives here.

The both work flawlessly. Alone.

They are on diff scsi buses. The one which is sga is fine. The one which
is sgc works w/ mtx, but not w/ mt. Why?

When I try to use mt w/ sgc, I get

[root@wernicke] /home/root> mt -f /dev/sgc unlock
/dev/sgc: Permission denied

A restore will say:

[root@wernicke] /home/root> restore -f /dev/nst2 -t
restore: tape read error: No medium found

Any place to start? Do you need more info to help out?
