[PLUG] Samba worked but......

Thanks for all of your help guys/gals. I had feeling it might have had
something to do with the firewall so I followed Mike Robbins suggestion to
check to see if the ipchains/iptables were running and they were. As soon
as I shut them down through the Konsole, I was immediately able to access
that laptop from my windows PC, however when I went to run \\linuxbox\Alex
the password prompt came up asking for a password for \\LINUXBOX\ALEX (all
in upper case) and when I put my password in for that account, it said that
the password was incorrect. I am using swat to configure because its easier
for me to understand so I changed the samba password for the account just to
be sure and it is still coming up that way. I have it set under globals for
the file handling to make it not case sensitive but it is still asking for
this and I think it has something to do with the fact that windows is
capitalizing everything.

I appreciate all of your quick responses.
