Does anyone know how to talk some sense into rpm's head? We are running rh6.2, but many of the packages have been upgraded. In my (ill-fated) attempt to upgrade openssl, I have inadventently installed it 2x. Here's what rpm says when I try to remove it: error: "openssl-0.9.6b-18" specifies multiple packages I know that. This package is listed 2x when I do rpm -qa. That's what I'm trying to fix. Rebuilding the database succeeded, but there are still two listings on openssl-0.9.6b-18. Forcing it fails. Justdb fails. Any other ideas? Anyone get rpm to allow for both this package and openssl-9.6.5 to coexist or to gracefull upgrade to openssl-0.9.6b-18, resetting all dependencies to openssl-0.9.6b-18. I can't see why rpm gets hung up on specific version numbers.
