Yes, my guess would be that host B is timing out on a reverse DNS
lookup, and that perhaps host A is listed in it's /etc/hosts file, but
host C is not.  Do you have a nameserver listed in the resolv.conf file
on host B?  Is that nameserver able to perform reverse lookups for the
IP addresses of hosts A and C?
