I just bought a new PC, should arrive next week. I'm happy: 2.4 GHz P4, 1 GB RAM, 80 GB drive. But whenever I do this, I always have this angst about mother board compatibility. The lists I've found, say at <http://www.tldp.org/HOWTO/Hardware-HOWTO/motherboards.html>, are explicitly incomplete and seem quite sparse in the space of mobo's. Is there something I'm missing, or is it really just sort of a crap shoot each time, make sure you can return stuff, etc.? (That said, I've never bought a machine that hasn't worked with linux, although I have had machines at work that haven't worked with linux. Perhaps because I buy cheap machines...) -- Jeff Jeff Abrahamson <http://www.purple.com/jeff/> _________________________________________________________________________ Philadelphia Linux Users Group -- http://www.phillylinux.org Announcements - http://lists.netisland.net/mailman/listinfo/plug-announce General Discussion -- http://lists.netisland.net/mailman/listinfo/plug
