I'd check http://www.qbik.ch/usb/devices/devices.php and see if that
particular model has been tried by anyone else.  This list often has
some tips on what modules/drivers are needed to get a particular device
to work.

There is also a list off http://www.linux-usb.org/ , but it isn't device
specific.  Also, your distro may have a list of devices known to work,
for example, SuSE's is at http://hardwaredb.suse.de/index.php?LANG=en_UK
