Re: [PLUG] usb 2.0 pci card?

Well, since it's over wireless, the wireless link will be the slowest point by a fairly large margin. A 1.1 hub would probably work exactly the same, as far as performance goes.

I just figure you can never have too much pizza, while most of my machines have USB2 onboard now. :)

How much faster will the USB 2.0 interface be when used over a wireless network? Actually, I guess it would be better to get a USB 2.0 card than to get a USB 1.1 hub. Especially with the pizza deal!

I'm actually moving this drive from my Windows XP-based laptop, which has
one of those external USB 2.0 pc cards that I can plug in, to a more
permanent home, connected to my little linux server. The goal is to make it
so I can access it wirelessly from my laptop without having to physically
plug into anything.

The linux box in question, an old celeron-based eMachines box of dubious
quality, only has a single USB 1.1 based port, which I'm currently using for
my printer.
