Fwiw, I'm a salaried Unix/Linux systems administrator, and I work for somewhere between $15-$20 an hour. So yeah, there'd better be. And your Win2k consultants better be Gods at that rate. I've been doing computer consulting in North Carolina this year for $60 per hour on-site, $40 from home. That is a real bargain. Sadly, it is a down market right now (this is an understatement; NC seems to be taking this downturn worse than the rest of the country) $100 per hour is pretty typical for hourly UNIX work as an independent consultant, and higher rates are not uncommon. I'm moving back home to the Philadelphia area soon (January). Hourly work is becoming impossible to find at any rate, and no senior level permanent work seems to be available. Getting better hits from "up there". Chris Hedemark .. Hillsborough, NC .. http://yonderway.com Homeland Security begins at home; support your Second Amendment.
