To tell you the truth you should enter the user name and the password on the windows machine to have access to the Linux box. On the windows box everyone is a root user and even for printing a password should be required. I realize that entering passwords is painful, but a friend of someone in your family could do some damage. Also you should make the shared files on your Linux box password protected. With everything on the Windows box open I would exercise a little caution on the Linux box.
