Re: [PLUG] wanted: packages

Go to /etc/php.ini and uncomment the line "extension=mysql.so".

some guy on a website somewhere told me. when i try to log into phpMyAdmin
I continue to get an error that says "Cannot load MySQL extension. Check
PHP configuration". So this guy told me that I just need to update some
packages and that would fix things, but I can't even find the packages that
he think I need to update.

I am currently using

php-mysql-4.2.3-8

but i continue to get the same error message

who told you that you need these packages? if mysql and php aren't
interacting, it's probably because you need this package:
php-mysql-4.2.2-8.0.5.i386.rpm installed.

Can anyone point me in the direction of these packages? I can't find
them on rpmfind.net, freshmeat.net, or on the RedHat site. even a
google search was unfruitful.

glibc-2.3.2.i386.rpm
glibc-common-2.3.2.i386.rpm
nscd-2.3--2.i386.rpm

I was told that in order to enable MySQL/PHP interaction on my redhat
8.0 machine these packages need to be updated. I'm currently using

glibc-2.2.93-5
glibc-common-2.2.93-5
nscd-2.2.93-5

Thanks!

Gary
