I didn't find it all that interesting. It's a semi-fork of the kernel tree, and a semi-fork of half a dozen other major subsystems, along with a sensibly configured distro underneath.

I believe all or most of the forked sources are publicly available. Probably just most.

The NSA was all wow-wow over it simply because it was an OS with source they could audit/modify at will.
