Re: [PLUG] Laptop Recommendations

if felt it was cumbersome like windows. i guess it was easy to use - but i never really "got" the interface. i just like my OS to be more along the lines of real OS - real multi-tasking, protected kernel space, etc. i didn't use OS 9 much - but i worked at a place with a large design shop and they were always crapping out. i equated them to win95. that's just my opinion. it has taken me a while to get used to the OS X interface - but having used the various linux desktops probably helped me to get up to speed faster.

What makes you feel that way?

(That's a legimate question, not a jibe. I happen to like Mac OS,
and think Mac OS X's interface--at least initially, it's gotten
better now--to be a step backwards in useability, both from Mac OS
and NeXTStep, both of which I've used a fair bit. But I grew up
using Macs, so my background's probably different.)
