Maybe the price is included in the price of the M$ OS?

I would prefer to get the OS for free and have the option to pay for 
updates than to pay for something up front that I might not use.  For a 
few reasons I do Windows updates manually.  Until recently I'd done 
Linux updates manually.  Once M$, and maybe RedHat, get enough people 
dependent on auto updating, then maybe they will make people pay.  (I 
mean that in more than one sense.)
