[PLUG] Imaging a Linux Laprop

I don't ever remember seeing a thread about this, so if this is not new
info sorry :)

Over the weekend I tried imaging my Gentoo/Linux notebook to see how
well it could handle it. Drive Image 2002 from powerquest is my software
of choice and it does a great job on Windows boxes.

So I have 4 partitions all reiser FS

/boot 250 mb
/ 5 GB
/home 4 GB
swap 1 GB

I imaged them to my server, wiped the hard drive, Installed Windows XP
PRO, used it for about 4 hours.

Loaded up Drive Image boot disk, restored the image

Booted up Notebook and was greeted by the infamous 'Missing Operating
System"

Booted up my super rescue cd, was able to mount my partitons, ran a
chroot, ran lilo

Exited
rebooted
and greeted by familiar LILo Menu

All in all a great experience, all permissions, users and such came
back flawlessly

The point is that now I can make Point in Time backups of my notebook,
yea!
