BTW, Libranet offers a script which: 1. Dumps you into xconfig, with the current kernel options already set (equivalent to first running 'make oldconfig'), and 2. Performs all the other steps, including adding the new kernel to grub While purists may not like the idea of multiple steps being performed without first confirming that the previous step completed without errors, it does work. Libranet is a newbie-friendly way of getting access to the power of Debian...I cannot recommend it enough. Greg -- Privileged/Confidential information may be contained in this message.
