Re: [PLUG] OSS desktop (windows) anti-virus?

For Windows AV I use McAfee, with which it is still optional to have a subscription for automatic updates. I just download free DAT files every month or so. Although, I have a feeling that they're moving toward a mandatory subscription model like Norton.

There are no viable OSS AV packages for Windows, and you're not likely
to see one any time soon. This is a subindustry that found out long ago
that the subscription model was the way to make the money. Even F-Prot
is on a subscription model these days. Your best bet is to just pay the
fee to Norton... at least its only once a year.
