Re: [PLUG] Firewall or hacked problem??????????????/

Check their FAQ first.

Maybe DNS queries are being blocked either going out or coming in. Ports 53 TCP and UDP, I believe.

hey guys,

so i installed the Firestarter firewall earlier this week, and all was fine

however when i booted up my red hat linux 8.0 today, i connected to my Verizon DSL as usual, and opened my web browser (mozilla, or opera, either one) and can click/browse on the initial startup web page and go everywhere on that startup page links.

However when I type in a different web address (or select one of my bookmarks) it sticks on "resolving host <whatever>.com" and it times out and doesn't allow me to browse.

what's going on?

i have firestarter 0.91 and am running IPtables.

any help is much appreciated,
