Re: [PLUG] Verizon DSL

Did Verizon take away the limited dial-up feature (For checking e-mail while on the go, or when DSL goes down.) from DSL subscribers when they decreased the monthly rate for DSL?

In response to the quoted...you could make things even more technical and maybe more difficult by running multiple NICs, including a wireless NIC, in the router PC. That would reduce the numbers of devices from four to two. I think you could even get an internal DSL modem. Even better if you control the router through ssh or serial console.

Otherwise I'd need 4 things using up electricty:

1 Cable Modem (which BTW. appears to be the Westall 2100 model by the
part number but of course Verizon sent me no documentation)
1 PC to act router
1 switch
1 WAP
