Since we're on the media player topic, is there a quick fix to get XMMS to play MP3s? I'm running XMMS 1.2.7 under RedHat 9.0. Whenever I try to play an MP3 I get thrown back to the "Load file(s)" dialog. ?

Check out http://www.xmms.org - at the bottom of the page there's a link for an rpm to give you a plugin for mp3 playback. Apparently Redhat disabled that feature.

OK, now I can play local MP3s! Still, if I click on an MP3 in Mozilla XMMS will open the Load file(s) dialog box instead of playing the file. Mozilla seems to download the entire file then displays "Running helper ...", but I don't know where the file is cached or why it doens't actually play. Hmmm.
