No contract and no sign-up or cancellation fee...but this may only be if you are already a Comcast cable customer so check on that first. I went with Comcast for the fact that they had me online after a 15 minute phone call. No matter what the phone techs say, you don't need the install kit it's just dhcp. Tell them to transfer you to broadband tech support and they can get you set up right away. I didn't have to sign a contract. I really didn't want to deal with the whole DSL installation thing. But I still get my TV through them so maybe that is why it was pretty easy for me, YMMV. You should be able to get a modem for $0 after mail-in rebate, just look around...I think Circuit City or Best Buy advertised one on Sunday. If that's true and I can get a free or low cost cable modem, I think I will sign up within the next month. Although, if my life and location were more stable, I would consider the Speakeasy shared DSL deal. _________________________________________________________________________ Philadelphia Linux Users Group -- http://www.phillylinux.org Announcements - http://lists.netisland.net/mailman/listinfo/plug-announce General Discussion -- http://lists.netisland.net/mailman/listinfo/plug _________________________________________________________________________ Philadelphia Linux Users Group -- http://www.phillylinux.org Announcements - http://lists.netisland.net/mailman/listinfo/plug-announce General Discussion -- http://lists.netisland.net/mailman/listinfo/plug
