If you're a Perl guy, you should check out Komodo, from ActiveState:

Regex-aware and its geared towards Open Source scripting languages, specifically Perl, PHP and Python, but with excellent support for XSLT, as well. It costs some money, but is far easier to use than Emacs.

There is also Open Perl IDE, and IDE just for Perl, which is free:
