A lot of modems have a diagnostic mode that is either accessed by magic software from the customers Ethernet port and an ip addr of something like 192.168.1.100 or just accessing that address alone sometimes gets you a menu. IIRC some of them are passwd protected. It depends on the manufacturer. Please keep in mind that it has been a couple of years since I even looked at a cm and my memory is a little fuzzy on the exact details. -- ......Tom Registered Linux User #14522 http://counter.li.org tdiehl@rogueind.com My current SpamTrap -------> mtd123@rogueind.com _________________________________________________________________________ Philadelphia Linux Users Group -- http://www.phillylinux.org Announcements - http://lists.netisland.net/mailman/listinfo/plug-announce General Discussion -- http://lists.netisland.net/mailman/listinfo/plug
