I know a Polish Ph.d who had to spend at least 48 hours fixing his dissertation because he was using a different version of word than his professor. Also they have a "Ruler (as in measurement) Nazi" that ensures that everything has the proper spacing, e.g., the columns are exactly x cm's wide, the double spaced text is y cm's high. When I told the Organic Chemists about LaTex they were all happy because the could separate content from appearance. I know that OpenOffice.org is working on LaTex filters, not great for you know but a solution for people like you in the future. Cheers, Alex
