-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 I am posting this for the archives. Googling for "kdeinit could not launch kwrite" returns only one useful result out of 8. I figured I'd push it up the listings... <archivemode> http://www.mdlug.org/archives/mdlug/msg03882.html lists an issue much like mine. I was trying to do "File Manager - SU mode" in KDE to edit xinetd configs. When I'd right click > Open With > Kwrite, I'd get an error message "kdeinit could not launch kwrite". The issue was resolved by typing 'xhost +localhost' at a commandline. This seems to be an issue across several distros. I am running Mandrake. I've seen it on RedHat. Other posts in the Google results also mention SUSE. <\archivemode> Eugene -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.2-nr2 (Windows XP) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iD8DBQE/tOdE6QPtAqft/S8RAifeAKDwPjZzv/GE2Ya+Xyd9BxQMCO+OogCg69F2 wULMCN9kRjAQ7fRDhISzhAs= =BlSY -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- ___________________________________________________________________________ Philadelphia Linux Users Group -- http://www.phillylinux.org Announcements - http://lists.phillylinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug-announce General Discussion -- http://lists.phillylinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug
