Hi Mike,

see if the deb file is in /var/cache/apt/archive/
if it is then do a dpkg -i filename.deb

else
apt-get --download-only gnome-session2
# this will put the deb file in /var/cache/apt/archive/
dpkg -i gnome-session2*.deb
