No you are correct. Your motherboard must have a Serial ATA-compatible
controller in order to buy a S-ATA drive. I didn't read the original
posting closely enough and thought you were building a new system. You
should just go get an ATA-7 (or Ultra-133, whatever they're calling it
in stores now) drive and call it a day if that's not the case.
