the older redhat (6.2 and below) you need to patch kernel, but newer ones (i use 7.2 i think) recognize it out of the box. I used ultra 66 and ultra 100tx2 with redhat, works fine. (my rh7.2 server has a ultra 100tx2 and it even boots on teh drive on the card--motheboard is tyan tiger 100). you'll need to remap drives if necessary (/dev/hde, hdg, etc). you may need to tweak a bit by way of hdparm if you find speed problems (be careful though). i dont know if it will do anything to recognize capacity though. epike On Mon, 12 Jan 2004 18:39:35 -0500 Michael Lazin <michael@lazinweb.homelinux.net> wrote: > I still can't get linux to see any more than 6 gigs of my 40 gig hard > drive.
