Hi, This past Sunday, Debian announced a security vulnerability [1] in mailman, the mailing-list software currently utilized by the plug and plug-announce lists. In response, yesterday afternoon I installed the newly available package from security.debian.org, but unfortunately it contained a python syntax error which resulted in mail sent to the list being held unprocessed in the mailman queue. The problem was resolved at approximately 3PM this afternoon by applying the patch documented in Debian bug #232079 [2], and all messages that were stuck in the queue now appear to have been posted successfully. Special thanks to Jon Nelson <quincy@linuxnotes.net> for bringing the problem to my attention. Thanks, -mct [1] http://www.debian.org/security/2004/dsa-436 [2] http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=232079 ___________________________________________________________________________ Philadelphia Linux Users Group -- http://www.phillylinux.org Announcements - http://lists.phillylinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug-announce General Discussion -- http://lists.phillylinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug
