You may want to try "aptitude" out. It's extremely nice (once you get use to it) for installing / updating Debian. Makes it a joy to handle dependencies and search for packages. And I'm not sure how long you have used Linux, so I'll recommend some apps :) Media: ------ Apollen (file sharing) GRiP (CD Ripper) Juk (Mp3 player) Gimp (photo editor) Xine (media player) K3B (cd burner) Games: ------ FooBillards (Pool game) Frozen Bubble (addictive) FreeCiv (civ clone) xbill (Just plain funny) xsoldier (shoot em up) bzflag (cool net tank game) GTetrinet (tetris over net) Teg (Risk) Misc: ----- Kontact (kmail, kweather, knewsticker, knode, korganizer, etc) Gaim (ICQ, AIM, etc) Kate (text editor) Kword / OpenOffice Well, that will get you started. Enjoy :-) ___________________________________________________________________________ Philadelphia Linux Users Group -- http://www.phillylinux.org Announcements - http://lists.phillylinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug-announce General Discussion -- http://lists.phillylinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug
