I received the same message the other day which is the reason I only use Linux to read mail. Most of the Windows Word files that are sent can be read by Open Office and they come out pretty good. Also, you can save the Windows attachment to fat partition on a linux box, or use mcopy to copy the file to a floppy. I realize that this is a little cumbersome, but in the interest of safety I have even convinced that windows running the latest virus scanner updates is not secure enough. There was even a notice on /. from the dept of Home Land Security of a new windows exploit that effects Windows help along with IE and the virus scanners do not have a patch for it yet. I don't know if this is what you are looking for, but just my 2 cents. Have a great day :-) LeRoy - -- Rev. LeRoy D.
