Bonus content: An OSS desktop publishing program is being developed called Scribus. I wonder if that program would be able to handle Illustrator. format. http://www.scribus.net/ I found an interesting (to me) bit of info on the Scribus site: "PDF 1.4 = Acrobat 5.0 - Actually, introduced with Illustrator 9, The main difference to concern Scribus users is PDF 1.4, has both transparency and alpha transparency capabilities, which make a major difference in where a PDF with these features can be printed. It takes wither the latest commercial RIP's or a Level 3 Postscript printer to use these features properly. The latest versions of Ghostscript support the advanced PDF 1.4 features Scribus can create when exporting PDF." ___________________________________________________________________________ Philadelphia Linux Users Group -- http://www.phillylinux.org Announcements - http://lists.phillylinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug-announce General Discussion -- http://lists.phillylinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug
