Well, there are places in the world where people are more tech-savvy in general than America (Germany, for instance) ;-) As well, M$ has everything to worry about in that area (even if the worries are in fact unfounded) since the desktop is the only thing that shows a profit for them. As far as M$ not being able to handle the competition, well, their track record speaks for me in that area. All I really wanted to say was that M$ has been known to hold out licenses and price breaks from OEMs that were selling other OSs (e.g. Linux) and some contracts specifically state that in order to get the "deal" they are getting, they cannot sell any other OSs on the same hardware. IMO, Dell cried foul on the press release b/c they didn't know it was going to get that much press and didn't want to run afoul of M$'s "good graces". - -- Tobias DiPasquale 202A 04C4 2CE6 B985 8520 88D6 CD25 1A6C B9B5 1595 -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.4 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFA7vO2zSUabLm1FZURAuA7AKCFo3Y0p8Zoe4P8OJ4CBckUlzdynACeP1Li Z2bqwmVbO4Ee6SyrQQY/SPU= =9qZP -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- ___________________________________________________________________________ Philadelphia Linux Users Group -- http://www.phillylinux.org Announcements - http://lists.phillylinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug-announce General Discussion -- http://lists.phillylinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug
