[PLUG] hotplug not working w 2.6

Hey all,

This problem is with my Dell Latitude D800 laptop running Debian sarge and
kernel 2.6.6-1-686.

All of a sudden I was not able to run X. Troubleshooting it showed that X
could find an input device. I then found that everything in
'/etc/modprobe.d/isapnp/isapnp.aliases' was not loading. I can 'modprobe
psmouse' and then get X to run. This is loaded via hotplug at boot.

Then only thing I can think of that might have caused this was that I was
working on getting sound to work. At one point I had run
'update-modules'. I have googled and googled but can't figure this out.

TIA,

Jon
