Quite probably. He was tossing in some things solely to annoy. As were
others.
I emailed him about it privately, with no response.

Me, either. What disquiets me is that Jeff (and I presume, Mike)
threatened to moderate Howard, without checking with the group. Some
asked for it; some agreed; others said no. AFAIK we have no specific
policy against posts. Perhaps I'm wrong.

I thought we were unmoderated. Choosing to be unmoderated sometimes
means putting up with crap like Howard's.

Don't get me wrong; if Howard doesn't post again, it's not like I'm
gonna mope around. Yeah, I'm sure he knew he was baiting, and doing it
deliberately. Doesn't mean he didn't have a valid point here and there,
amongst the chaff.

But for sure, our responses were easily at the baiting level of his
posts. And if we threaten to moderate Howard for that, then we should
ALSO threaten to moderate the others. To do otherwise is hypocrisy. We
called Howard names and threatened physical violence; Howard did
neither. (yes, he was more subtle in his baiting and trouble-raising)

Geez, when did I get to be so mature? :-)
