It looks like I could buy two linksys wireless routers and connect the two main parts of my house where non-laptops are, although there's a third area where I'd like to have a machine (a jukebox / ogg-server). Is there such a thing as a wireless hub? I don't need heavy routing capabilities and in some cases I do need to see individual IP's in both directions. You can't beat the cost of wireless. Two WRT54G's will cost you less than $150. A wireless hub is called an access point, in wireless terminology. Most wireless routers will also have a number of Fast Ethernet ports, as well (usually 4). I suspect what you want, however, is to configure one of the access point's as a repeater, which will simply turn it into a bridge. Check out Wireless Hacks from O'Reilly for some really neat stuff you can do with that and other wireless technologies. - -- Tobias DiPasquale 202A 04C4 2CE6 B985 8520 88D6 CD25 1A6C B9B5 1595 -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.5 (Darwin) iD8DBQFBhm+UzSUabLm1FZURAm6hAJ98oJfELKQ307De4YPBZW1StR8yqwCglhXM m6qAxygOrYdbdmnmEtOuxY8= =MR5K -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- ___________________________________________________________________________ Philadelphia Linux Users Group -- http://www.phillylinux.org Announcements - http://lists.phillylinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug-announce General Discussion -- http://lists.phillylinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug
