If your IP's are bridged, then yes, you can put a switch between the DSL 
modem and the Gateway Router. If your IPs are routed (as mine are), then 
everything has to be behind the router. What information did they give 
you with respect to your 6 IP addresses? Did they give you something like:

WAN IP: 207.245.69.xxx
Local IPs: xxx.yyy.zzz.aaa/29

Or did they just give you a list of 6 individual and not necessarily 
consecutive IP addresses?
