William or anyone else who might know, Is there a difference between one of these "whole house splitters" and just putting one of the supplied (by the DSL provider) splitters at the head, like Doug mentioned? Doug's setup is what I did from the get-go. Thanks for the summary "unofficial quote" for the "life line", that's likely the direction I'm headed as well. (Not for VoIP). Dan W.
