Sorry about that. I was researching halftoning for my father a couple months ago. I wasn't able to find a great answer for him. It did appear that an older laser printer would do the halftoning, but we couldn't get it to work for other printers. I did a lot with gimp trying to get it to work, but to no avail. Then he decided to retire and it was moot. I'm very interested if you find an answer, though.
