[PLUG] suggested Motherboard/processor combo

It's "that time" of year again... the Trenton Computer Fair!
I'm considering getting a new motherboard + processor + ram for my
SuSE 9.1 pro workstation.
The case has a 200 GB IDE drive, IDE CDROM, IDE DVD burner, and a new
350W PS. My current MoBo is a VIA W/800MHz Athlon and 512 Meg of 133
RAM.
I've got a Nvidia based video card that I'd like to replace as well
since every kernel update requires an ugly recompile process for the
video driver (and I've had other problems.) The video is a lower
priority.
What MoBo/CPU combinations have others on the list had success with?
Advice appreciated!
